On May 19, Source Music announced through the fan platform that, “Kim Chaewon recently received hospital treatment due to pain in her neck area, and medical professionals advised that she needs a period of rest while monitoring her recovery progress.”
The agency added, “Placing the artist’s health and safety as our top priority, and after comprehensively considering medical advice and the artist’s condition, we determined that it is necessary for her to focus on sufficient recovery in order to continue activities in a more stable condition.”
The company continued, “We will actively support the artist so she can fully concentrate on her recovery. Future schedules will be managed flexibly depending on her recovery status. We will do our best to help the artist return to fans in a healthy condition as soon as possible.”
As a result, Kim Chaewon will not participate in previously announced schedules, including:
- University festival performances
- Spotify PURE FLOWERS LIVE
- Music show promotions
LE SSERAFIM is currently preparing to release their second full-length album PURE FLOW Part 1 on May 22 at 1 PM KST.
Ahead of the comeback, the group pre-released the track “Celebration” on April 24. The song’s choreography quickly drew attention online due to its aggressive headbanging sequences, with some fans expressing concern over the members’ physical strain during performances.
Despite the sudden announcement, fans have continued sending supportive messages online, hoping Kim Chaewon prioritizes her recovery before returning to activities.
Meanwhile, the remaining LE SSERAFIM members are expected to continue the comeback schedule while adjustments are made depending on Chaewon’s health progress.
