According to an exclusive report released by OSEN on May 14, comedian Lee Jin Ho initially collapsed due to a brain hemorrhage on April 1 and was rushed to the intensive care unit in critical condition. Fortunately, he reportedly improved without requiring major surgery and is now focusing on rehabilitation treatment in a general hospital ward.
Sources close to the comedian shared that Lee Jin Ho has recovered enough to recognize visitors and even hold conversations. Although those around him are relieved by his progress, they also noted that brain hemorrhages can lead to severe long-term complications, meaning his full recovery and hospital discharge are expected to take considerable time.
During the early stages of his hospitalization, only family members were allowed to visit due to ICU restrictions. However, as his condition stabilized, fellow comedians and close friends reportedly began visiting him at the hospital. Comedian Lee Yong Jin was said to be among the first acquaintances to visit.
The report also revealed that Kangin played a critical role during the emergency. On the day Lee Jin Ho collapsed, Kangin reportedly called him by chance. Despite losing consciousness, Lee Jin Ho managed to answer the phone and explain his condition. Kangin immediately contacted emergency services, allowing paramedics to arrive within the “golden time” and transport him to the hospital.
Lee Jin Ho debuted in 2005 as part of SBS’s special recruitment program and rose to popularity through comedy programs including “Woongi’s Father” on People Looking for Laughter. He later became widely known as a fixed cast member on Knowing Bros.
However, his career faced major setbacks in recent years. In 2024, Lee Jin Ho admitted to illegal gambling activities and halted all entertainment promotions. In September last year, he was also referred to prosecutors for drunk driving charges. Reports additionally revealed that he had accumulated approximately 28 million KRW in unpaid national health insurance fees since April 2023, further drawing public criticism.
