On January 27, a short video and post appeared on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “I ran into Hanni at the Australian Open tennis tournament and got her autograph.” The video drew attention by showing a tennis cap signed by Hanni. The post appears to be a shared capture of a message originally posted on a Chinese social media platform.
The netizen who claimed to have seen Hanni in person said, “Hanni looked to be in very good condition,” but also added, “It still seems like it will take some time before her official return.”

As the sighting spread, netizens left supportive messages such as “Thanks for sharing the news,” “Hope Hanni stays healthy,” and “Can’t wait to see her again soon.” On the other hand, some expressed concern that Hanni’s presence in Australia might suggest that NewJeans’ comeback timeline has not yet been solidified.
Last December, it was confirmed that Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni would return under ADOR, and it was reported that Minji is continuing discussions with ADOR. Meanwhile, the exclusive contract with Danielle has been terminated due to violations of contract terms.

Last October, ADOR stated in court that “if the exclusive contract is maintained, the artist can carry out optimal entertainment activities and be free from penalties and compensation liabilities,” and added, “We are currently continuing preparations for the artist’s comeback.”
In its official statement following the lawsuit victory over the contract dispute, ADOR also said, “We have finished preparations for activities including the release of a full album and are waiting. We will do our best through discussions with the artist to return to fans soon.”
