Claims have emerged alleging that Seungri, a former member of BIGBANG, was preparing what has been described as a “second Burning Sun” while staying in Cambodia. The allegations were raised on January 20 in a video uploaded to the YouTube channel Jirit Jirit, operated by journalist Oh Hyuk-jin, titled “Exclusive Investigation Files by Reporter Oh Hyuk-jin: From Hwang Hana to Seungri and Park Yoochun.”

In the video, Oh Hyuk-jin discussed tips he said he had received regarding Seungri’s recent activities. According to the journalist, Seungri has allegedly been associating with individuals involved in money laundering, voice phishing rings, and casino-related operations, and has been seen partying with senior figures from criminal compounds in Cambodia. Oh suggested that these gatherings were not merely social, but may have included business-related discussions.

Oh further claimed that Seungri may have been attempting to launch ventures in Cambodia similar in nature to the now-notorious Burning Sun scandal. He added that the situation had reportedly stalled after key figures allegedly connected to these operations were arrested and faced extradition to China. “It’s unclear whether there is anyone left who could financially support Seungri,” Oh remarked, emphasizing that these were allegations based on information he had received.

The journalist also commented on Seungri’s current standing, noting that while he still appears to retain a certain level of fandom in Japan, his reputation in South Korea has severely deteriorated. Oh claimed that Seungri may have been trying to leverage his former image as a BIGBANG member in parts of Southeast Asia to pursue questionable business opportunities. According to Oh, Seungri has recently been traveling frequently between Thailand and neighboring countries.

Separately, South Korean authorities have intensified efforts to crack down on scam operations in Cambodia. In November last year, the Korean government cooperated with Cambodian police to establish a dedicated task force targeting scam compounds. As a result of these joint operations, three South Korean nationals were rescued, and 157 individuals allegedly involved in scam activities were arrested.

As of now, the claims surrounding Seungri’s alleged activities have not been officially confirmed by authorities, and no formal response has been issued by Seungri or his representatives.
