On January 13, a production press conference for Channel A’s new weekend drama Positively Yours was held at The Link Seoul in Guro, Seoul. Director Kim Jin‑seong and cast members Choi Jin‑hyuk, Oh Yeon‑seo, Hong Jong‑hyun, and Kim Dasom attended the event and discussed the drama.

Positively Yours is a reverse‑trajectory romantic comedy that unfolds after a one‑night mistake between a man and a woman who both believed marriage had no place in their lives. The series is based on a popular web novel and webtoon of the same name.

In the drama, Choi Jin‑hyuk plays Kang Doo‑joon, the CEO of Taehan Liquor, while Oh Yeon‑seo stars as Jang Hee‑won, a manager on the company’s new product development team. Hong Jong‑hyun and Kim Dasom portray Lee Min‑wook and Hwang Mi‑ran, characters who become entangled in the central couple’s relationship.

Hong Jong‑hyun, who recently portrayed a character with psychopathic tendencies in Dear X, said the shift to a completely different role felt refreshing. “It wasn’t difficult at all,” he explained. “It felt good to act on a warm and enjoyable set after a long time. That’s thanks to the actors I worked with.”

Originally, the role of Lee Min‑wook had been offered to Yoon Ji‑on, but the position became vacant following his departure from the project. Addressing the situation, Hong Jong‑hyun admitted honestly, “It would be a lie to say I didn’t feel pressured. But after meeting the director and the other actors and talking with them, I felt I could do it with these people.”

He added, “I just did my best within the time I was given, and everyone on set helped me a lot. I’m truly grateful to them.”

Positively Yours is set to premiere on January 17 at 10:30 p.m. KST, and viewers are already paying close attention to how Hong Jong‑hyun’s performance will shape the drama following the unexpected casting change.
