Career
Debut and Idol Career
In July 2008, at age 11, Jurina passed the audition to become a first-generation member of SKE48, an idol group based in Nagoya. She made her official stage debut with SKE48 on October 5, 2008. Later that same year, she was selected as the center performer for AKB48’s single “Ōgoe Diamond,” making her the first member of a sister group to serve as center for an AKB48 single.
From 2012 to 2015, Jurina held a concurrent position with AKB48’s Team K, allowing her to perform and appear with both groups. She participated in numerous singles and was a regular member of AKB48’s senbatsu (selected lineup) for many releases.
Major Achievements
Jurina consistently ranked in the top 10 of the AKB48 annual general elections. In 2018, she won 1st place in the election, becoming the center performer for AKB48’s 53rd single “Sentimental Train.” This victory marked a peak in her idol career and solidified her status as one of the most prominent members in the 48-group history.
She also appeared on the survival show Produce 48 in 2018, ultimately ranking 13th before withdrawing due to health reasons.
Solo Activities and Acting
Beyond music, Jurina has pursued acting and television work. She starred in several TV dramas, including Majisuka Gakuen (2010), Lady Maiko (2014), and Crow’s Blood (2016). She has also taken on variety show appearances and live-action projects throughout her career.
In 2019, Jurina released her first solo album Privacy, which she co-wrote and released under Showroom Records.
Graduation from SKE48
After more than a decade as an idol, Jurina formally graduated from SKE48 on April 29, 2021, concluding her idol career with the group’s final single “Koiochi Flag.” Following her graduation, she shifted her focus toward solo entertainment, including television work and variety programming.
Post-Graduation and Recent Activities
After leaving SKE48, Jurina continued working as a TV personality and content creator. She has occasionally participated in special projects, sports events, and modeling roles. Since 2020, she has maintained a presence on YouTube “Jurina HOUSE”, where she shares personal and behind-the-scenes content with fans.
