Jennie of BLACKPINK is barely recognizable in her latest appearance, shocking fans with a daring short haircut that completely transforms her image. The K-pop star recently sat down with American fashion magazine V Magazine for an in-depth interview, where she reflected on her career, personal growth, and her mindset as she approaches her 30s.

The interview took place shortly after Jennie wrapped up a cover shoot in Los Angeles. Speaking via Zoom, she looked back on her journey so far, describing herself as someone still driven by curiosity and passion despite her global success.

“I can’t believe I’m still saying this,” she shared. “Even before releasing my first album Ruby, I felt this way, but I still feel like a baby taking her first steps into the world.”

When the topic of her upcoming 30th birthday came up, Jennie jokingly tried to dodge it, saying, “We’re not supposed to talk about that!” Still, she made it clear that she is welcoming her next decade with excitement rather than fear.

“I’m looking forward to this new chapter not because I’m turning 30, but because there are so many things I want to do. My 20s were full of passion and love,” she explained.

Jennie also reflected on how intensely she lived through her 20s. BLACKPINK has sold over 20 million album copies worldwide and made history as the first K-pop girl group to top major Western charts. Her own solo debut further cemented her global appeal, charting in the Top 10 across 19 countries.

“I’ll actually be performing in Tokyo on my birthday night and throughout that week,” she revealed, emphasizing that her passion for music and the stage remains stronger than ever.

This month, BLACKPINK will conclude their DEADLINE World Tour. Jennie admitted that stepping back into touring came with uncertainty.

“It wasn’t that we were scared, but we didn’t know what it would feel like to go back on tour together after three years,” she said, candidly discussing the balance between solo and group work.

One of the most striking moments of the interview was Jennie’s reflection on the meaning of “home.” For her, it goes beyond a physical place.

“When I look at what I’ve created and feel proud, thinking, ‘This is mine,’ that’s when I feel at peace. That’s when I think, ‘I’m doing well. My life is good,’” she shared, describing achievement itself as her emotional safe haven.

She also spoke about the comfort of moving between solo and group performances.

“Having different music in our setlists and seeing each other’s performances from a new perspective was fun. Standing on stage together again felt like returning home,” Jennie added.

Closing the interview, Jennie addressed how she views success today.

“If you ask me whether I handle success well, I’d honestly say I’m still learning. But I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved so far. I look back, dream bigger, and keep moving forward that’s how I do things,” she concluded.

With her bold new hairstyle, reflective mindset, and unwavering ambition, Jennie is clearly entering her next era confident, curious, and completely her own.
