Global fan community platform Weverse has confirmed disciplinary action against an internal employee following allegations of leaked fan sign event information.
The controversy surfaced after screenshots circulated on online communities, allegedly showing mobile messenger conversations between a Weverse employee and an acquaintance. The images appeared to indicate that the employee had accessed and shared information related to fan sign event lottery results, including whether specific individuals had been selected.
In response, Weverse Company launched an immediate internal investigation. After verifying the facts, the company concluded that the actions constituted a serious violation of internal regulations and employment rules.
In an official statement provided to Sports Seoul, Weverse said, “Our investigation confirmed misconduct by an employee that caused harm to both customers and the company. The individual has been immediately removed from their duties and referred to the disciplinary committee.” The company added that it is also reviewing possible legal action related to the incident.

Weverse emphasized that it is taking steps to address customer impact stemming from the leak. Affected users will receive formal apologies along with detailed explanations regarding disciplinary measures taken against the employee involved.
The platform also announced preventive measures moving forward. “To prevent recurrence, we will conduct compliance training for all employees and further strengthen our internal control systems,” the company stated.
As Weverse continues to expand as a global hub connecting artists and fans worldwide, the incident has sparked renewed discussion around data protection, transparency, and ethical responsibility within fan-driven platforms.
