Jung Yi-rang & Yang Se-chan Deliver Hilarious Parody Stage at 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards

The 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards was filled with laughter thanks to actress Jung Yi-rang, who delivered a scene-stealing parody performance that quickly became one of the night’s most talked-about moments.

During the ceremony on December 30, Jung Yi-rang appeared on stage parodying singer Hwasa’s “Hwana” concept, while comedian Yang Se-chan transformed into actor Park Jung-min. The duo recreated a well-known awards show performance but flipped its serious tone into pure comedy, drawing explosive reactions from the audience.

Unlike the original performance, which ended on an emotional note, Jung Yi-rang and Yang Se-chan surprised viewers by closing the stage with the word “gukbap” instead of “goodbye,” delivering an unexpected and perfectly timed punchline. The sudden twist sent the ceremony hall into fits of laughter.

Jung Yi-rang playfully commented on her transformation, saying, “I can see Hwasa myself,” followed by jokes such as “I’m worried I might get sued,” and “I feel sorry ending the year like this.” She added, “I even cut my hair a little to capture Hwasa’s vibe. At least my passion was real.” Her detailed facial expressions and gestures earned her praise for achieving a “100% sync rate” with the original concept.

Following the parody stage, the Challenge Award of the Year was announced. Cast members of My Ugly Duckling—Heo Kyung-hwan, Lim Won-hee, and Kim Seung-soo—received the honor as joint winners.

Lim Won-hee shared, “Although My Ugly Duckling continues and Dolsing Fourmen recently came to an end, I believe this award reflects the effort I’ve put in. I’ll continue challenging myself.” Kim Seung-soo added that the show pushed him to take on new experiences, stating, “Regardless of age, I’ll keep challenging myself.” Heo Kyung-hwan also expressed mixed emotions, saying he was grateful for an unexpected award and eager to take on future challenges alongside his fellow cast members.

Jung Yi-rang’s bold parody and the heartfelt acceptance speeches centered on the theme of “challenge” brought both laughter and warmth to the ceremony, further elevating the festive atmosphere of the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards.
