Appearing on a recent variety show, Huang Zitao calmly shared that when he was just six years old, he suffered a severe accident while practicing martial arts. Due to a moment of carelessness, he fell violently and sustained a brain hemorrhage, forcing doctors to perform emergency surgery. As a result, his head required as many as 43 stitches.

According to Huang Zitao, the accident caused serious internal bleeding in his brain, prompting his family to rush him to the hospital. Doctors warned at the time that even a slight delay in surgery could have led to devastating consequences, including permanent cognitive damage or, in the worst-case scenario, a vegetative state. Fortunately, the operation was performed in time, the blood clot was successfully removed, and he recovered without lasting complications.

What surprised audiences most was not only the severity of the incident, but also Huang Zitao’s composed manner when recounting the near-death experience. On the show, he described the procedure in a straightforward tone, explaining that the bleeding could not drain naturally and that doctors had to open his skull, remove the blood and bone, and then place everything back into position.

Several celebrities present during the program confirmed having heard about the incident long before. When asked whether it was true that Huang Zitao had received 43 stitches to his head, well-known figures such as Huang Xiaoming, Wang Hedi, Liu Yaowen, Yu Yang, and Shao Ziheng all nodded, stating that the story had been widely known within the industry.
Following the broadcast, social media was flooded with reactions expressing shock, sympathy, and admiration. Many viewers said it was hard to believe that Huang Zitao had survived such a serious brain injury in childhood, only to later thrive in the demanding and high-pressure world of entertainment. His story has since been seen as a powerful reminder of resilience and the fragility of life.
