Acclaimed Chinese vocalist Gong Linna made headlines with a deeply emotional revelation: she once handcrafted and gifted over 100 presents to her husband Robert Zollitsch in a desperate bid to save their crumbling marriage after discovering his infidelity.
While Vietnamese audiences know Gong Linna through her 2023 appearance on Sisters Who Make Waves, where she debuted in the final and formed a close friendship with Chi Pu, her latest confession on a variety show has sparked widespread public debate.
“I made and gave him one gift every day, hoping he’d come back. But I still couldn’t win his heart,” Gong Linna shared, reflecting on the painful attempt to repair her relationship. Even the show’s host was left speechless, questioning how she could remain attached to someone who betrayed her so deeply.

A Love That Faded Over Time
Gong Linna met German composer Robert Zollitsch in 2002. They married two years later and had two sons. She was his second wife. However, cracks began to form in 2017 when Robert declared he was no longer happy in the marriage. The couple eventually separated in 2019 and only communicated through email.
In 2020, Gong Linna was devastated to learn that her husband had been in a three-year affair with an Austrian woman—and had even introduced this woman to their children as a “stepmother.”

What hurt even more was learning that the mistress had gifted Robert over 20 carefully wrapped presents, each with handwritten cards. “I realized I had never shown him that kind of care,” Gong Linna admitted.
100 Days of Devotion and Self-Healing
Determined to fight for her marriage, Gong Linna began a 100-day campaign—handcrafting and delivering one unique gift to her husband every single day. Each item was filled with emotion and intention.

But it wasn’t enough. In October 2024, Gong Linna publicly announced the end of their 20-year marriage.
Remarkably, she expressed no resentment. “I take responsibility too. I chased my career and neglected our home,” she said. She later revealed that the act of giving those gifts was not just for her husband—but for herself: “It was how I faced my own pain, how I expressed feelings I had long buried. It helped me heal.”
From Heartbreak to Strength
Since the divorce, Gong Linna has reclaimed her confidence and returned to the entertainment scene, determined to rebuild her life and career. While many netizens questioned her efforts to win back a cheating husband, others praised her strength, vulnerability, and emotional maturity.
From sorrow to self-redemption, Gong Linna’s story is not only a tale of heartbreak—it’s a powerful narrative of a woman who chose to love, to heal, and ultimately, to move forward with dignity.
