A netizen who first raised suspicions about comedian Jo Se-ho being linked to organized crime has shared a blurry photo of the star, just one day after he announced his departure from broadcasting.
On December 10, the netizen posted on social media a photo showing Jo Se-ho sitting next to a woman holding a dog, believed to be his wife, Jung Mo, who married him in October last year. The image was taken at what appears to be a restaurant.
The whistleblower, known as A, has long highlighted alleged illegal activities of organized crime groups and inappropriate ties with certain celebrities. A stated, “I will share the information I received. Jo Se-ho should provide a clear explanation instead of only threatening legal action.”
Following Jo Se-ho’s acknowledgment of a personal connection with the individual in question while denying any illegal involvement, he announced his decision to step down from his shows and pursue legal action against A.
After initially holding back from posting, citing respect for Jo Se-ho’s voluntary withdrawal, A shared the photo and a detailed post on December 10 to clarify facts amid online speculation of a possible settlement. A emphasized, “My intention has always been to correct illegal issues and the resulting harm. I have never demanded money, nor have I acted to target a specific person. I will not avoid legal processes and will respond with verifiable evidence if false claims continue.”
Legal experts have urged caution regarding the newly released photo, noting that it only confirms the two were in the same location and does not directly prove any criminal involvement or collusion.
Previously, the netizen announced he will no longer release additional allegations, stating that he respects Jo Se-ho’s decision to step down from all broadcast activities.

On December 9, Netizen A shared an article containing Jo Se-ho’s official stance and wrote: “Of course, there may be parts that Jo Se-ho personally finds unfair, but as a public figure who has received great love and attention from the nation, he is someone who must exercise careful judgment and responsibility.”
A emphasized that he holds “no personal resentment toward Jo Se-ho,” adding: “His decision to step down could not have been easy. I respect that decision and applaud him for it.”

He then stated that while he had organized and stored various testimonies and materials, they would only be reviewed if a legal procedure requires them.
“Seeing Jo Se-ho’s attitude and willingness to take responsibility, I will not release any further materials and will keep them privately,” he wrote.
Background: The Allegations and Public Fallout
A had previously claimed that Jo Se-ho maintained a long-standing personal relationship with Mr. Choi, a figure alleged to be connected to organized crime. He also released photos of Jo Se-ho and Choi together and claimed Jo had received money or valuables from him.

Jo Se-ho firmly denied the accusations through his agency A2Z Entertainment, calling them “groundless.” However, A initially refused to back down, suggesting further disclosures were coming.
As the controversy intensified, Jo Se-ho eventually announced his departure from KBS2’s and tvN’s programs he was appearing in, taking responsibility for the turmoil caused.
Jo Se-ho’s Apology and Strong Denial
Jo Se-ho also uploaded a lengthy handwritten apology on SNS, saying: “I sincerely apologize for disappointing so many people due to the recent issue.”
He explained that, due to years of attending numerous local events, he met many unfamiliar people: “As someone who stands before the public, I should have handled those relationships with more caution. In my less mature younger days, I failed to manage every connection responsibly.”

However, Jo Se-ho firmly rejected the allegations themselves: “The suspicions raised due to those past connections are completely untrue.”
He acknowledged the disappointment caused by the circulating photos: “I fully understand that the images alone could have disappointed many. My role is to bring laughter and comfort, yet I caused discomfort instead. I deeply reflect and apologize again.”
Future Legal Action and Vow to Rebuild Trust
While stepping down from his programs, Jo Se-ho emphasized that he will correct false claims for the sake of his family: “For the parts that are not true, I will take necessary actions to address them properly.”

He concluded with a pledge to prevent similar issues: “I will manage my surroundings and behavior more strictly. I will take this incident as an opportunity for deep reflection and work to return in a more mature form.”
