Broadcaster Park Na-rae has announced a complete suspension of her entertainment activities amid mounting allegations and internal conflict, leading to major disruptions across her current TV programs. As a result, MBC’s flagship variety show I Live Alone along with tvN’s Amazing Saturday and MBC’s Save Me! Holmes have all been hit directly by her sudden departure.

On December 8, Park Na-rae released a lengthy statement on her personal social media account.

She explained, “In early November, two managers I considered family suddenly resigned. Since then, I had no chance to speak with them directly, which led to misunderstandings.”

She continued, “Thanks to many people’s help, I was finally able to meet them yesterday. The misunderstandings have been resolved, but I still believe everything is my fault and I am deeply reflecting on my actions.”

Park Na-rae ultimately declared a full halt to her broadcast schedule, saying, “As someone whose job is to bring joy and laughter, I can’t burden my programs and colleagues any further. Until everything is clearly resolved, I will step down from all shows.”

Her decision confirms her withdrawal from I Live Alone, Amazing Saturday, and Save Me! Holmes.

Amid her hiatus, a past remark by Kwanghee — once dismissed as a comedic exaggeration — has resurfaced online and is now being viewed in a different light.

During a January 2019 episode of tvN’s Amazing Saturday, Kwanghee jokingly responded to a conversation about popularity by saying, “Except for Dong-yeob hyung, none of us are top stars. We’re all seasonal.”

When SHINee’s Key countered by reminding him that people often mocked his plastic surgery saying, “You’re just a passing fad,” Kwanghee replied, “I thought Infinite Challenge would last forever — but it disappeared. Do you think SM will protect you forever?”

He didn’t stop there. Turning to Park Na-rae, he added: “You too, Na-rae noona. Do you think I Live Alone will protect you forever? Wake up.” The remark caused a stir on set, though it ended with on-air laughter and a lighthearted apology.

However, as Park Na-rae’s activity suspension becomes reality, the clip is circulating again, prompting mixed reactions. Some netizens comment, “What sounded like a joke now feels prophetic,” while others say, “Kwanghee wasn’t being harsh — just brutally realistic.”

With Park Na-rae stepping away indefinitely, I Live Alone now faces the challenge of recalibrating its direction amid the exit of one of its central cast members. Viewers continue to watch closely to see how the program will adapt, and when — or how — Park Na-rae will eventually address the situation in full.
