On December 6, Li Yapeng posted a 17-minute video on his personal social media account, capturing his trip from Chengdu to Yongchang Town in Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Mianyang, Sichuan, where he finally met a young woman named Zhou Chunyan.
The moment the two met, Chunyan burst into tears as Li Yapeng tightly embraced her, asking about her work and life with visible emotion on his face. During the reunion, Li called her his “fourth daughter,” surprising many viewers. Until now, Li Yapeng was publicly known to have three daughters: Dou Jingtong, Li Yan, and Xia Xia, which made the identity of this “fourth daughter” especially intriguing.

According to Li Yapeng, his bond with Chunyan began during the devastating 2008 Sichuan earthquake. At the time, Chunyan was just 16 years old and a student at Beichuan Middle School. Although she initially survived the quake, she returned to the collapsed classroom to help rescue her classmates and was subsequently trapped beneath the rubble. After being pulled from the wreckage, doctors were forced to amputate both of her legs below the knees to save her life.
The Smile Angel Foundation, established by Li Yapeng and singer Faye Wong, quickly stepped in by dispatching volunteer doctors to the disaster zone. Chunyan and two other severely injured girls were transferred to Beijing for treatment. The foundation covered all of Chunyan’s medical and rehabilitation costs. She endured nearly ten surgeries before eventually returning to her hometown and resuming her studies at Beichuan Middle School.

Over the years, Li Yapeng continued to honor his promise to support her. Through persistent effort and determination, Chunyan was admitted to the Computer Science Department of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. After her graduation, Li even invited her to work in Beijing and offered her a position at the foundation. However, she declined, saying, “I don’t want to trouble Uncle Li anymore, and I can’t bear to leave my family in Beichuan.”
Earlier this March, Chunyan wrote a handwritten letter to Li Yapeng, expressing her gratitude: “Since the 2008 earthquake, we have known each other for more than ten years. Your care and concern warmed my heart and helped me slowly heal from those shattered years.” She affectionately called him “Uncle Li” and added, “In my heart, you will always be the elder I respect the most.”

According to QQ, Li Yapeng’s life has undergone many ups and downs over the past 17 years. He faced career fluctuations and serious financial difficulties. In 2023, a court restricted his high-level spending after a failed Lijiang project. In October 2025, he was reportedly ordered to repay millions of dollars in debt. Despite these hardships, Li never stopped caring for Chunyan, continuously supporting her medical treatment, education, and job opportunities.

Born in 1971, Li Yapeng is a well-known star of Chinese entertainment, famous for classic dramas such as The Legend of the Condor Heroes. He previously dated several top celebrities including Zhou Xun and Faye Wong. Li married Faye Wong in 2005, divorced in 2013, and they share a daughter, Li Yan. In 2022, he married actress Hai Ha Jinxi and welcomed another daughter, Xia Xia. The couple has recently gone through a divorce.
