Choi Sung Won recently posted two photos on his social media alongside the caption: “Already the 10th anniversary. Time really flies. I hope we can celebrate the 20th together as well.” The images included the official poster of tvN’s beloved drama Reply 1988 and a new poster featuring the cast reunited for the anniversary special. The side-by-side posters stirred nostalgia among fans.
Choi Sung Won played the role of Noeul, the younger brother of Deok Sun (Hyeri), earning much affection from viewers. However, in 2016 he was diagnosed with leukemia, forcing him to halt all activities. Although he received a clean bill of health in 2017 and returned to acting, news of a relapse in 2020 saddened many.
After more than two years of battling the illness again, Choi was once more declared fully recovered. He recently made a healthy and confident return through the TVING series Pyramid Game, portraying teacher Lim Joo Hyung.
Meanwhile, the Reply 1988 10th Anniversary special consists of three episodes and is set to premiere on December 19 at 8:40 PM.
