On November 25, Shin Min-a appeared in a video titled “December Bride: The Wedding Dress Shin Min-a Wants to Wear the Most” on the YouTube channel of Harper’s Bazaar Korea.
In the video, Shin Min-a revisited her fashion timeline and candidly shared her special experience from the time she filmed Diva.
In the film, she played a professional diver and appeared in numerous swimsuit scenes. She confessed, “The swimsuit scenes were much more difficult than expected. Honestly, it wasn’t the shape or fit of the swimsuit that bothered me it was how I posed and adjusted underwater that mattered more.”
She added with a laugh, “It was so scary, I don’t think I could ever do it again,” recalling the nerve-wracking experience.
She also gave a practical styling tip about swimsuit fit: “Real divers cut the leg line high around the hips to make their legs appear longer. But for me, that felt a bit burdensome, so I wore it slightly lower. If you have wider hips like I do, wearing it lower feels more natural.”
Shin Min-a, widely known for her glamorous figure, was once dubbed the original “Bagel Girl” (baby face + glamorous body) in the early 2010s. Her honest remarks resonated with fans, revealing the reality behind the “perfect actress body” and highlighting the thoughtfulness behind her style.
Her preparation for the role, including both styling and physical training, also brought attention to her image as a hardworking actress.
Diva, released in 2020, is a psychological thriller where Shin Min-a played elite diver Lee Young. She portrayed the character’s inner collapse amid intense psychological pressure and competition, earning critical acclaim and a nomination for Best Actress at the Blue Dragon Film Awards that year.
Meanwhile, Shin Min-a and actor Kim Woo-bin, who publicly confirmed their relationship in July 2015, are set to tie the knot next month on December 20 after 10 years of dating.
