The shocking case involving the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez continues to unravel, drawing massive public attention after investigators connected the incident to rising R&B artist D4vd (David Anthony Burke).
According to KOIN, on September 8, a severely decomposed body was discovered inside a Tesla parked at a Los Angeles parking lot. Residents had alerted authorities after noticing a foul smell coming from the vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found the body cut into multiple pieces, stuffed inside a bag and placed in the car’s trunk. After examination, the victim was identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been missing since April 2024. The Tesla was registered to 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd an R&B musician with millions of followers.
The vehicle was found on Bluebird Avenue, near a Hollywood Hills home rented by the singer. LAPD investigators later searched the property, seizing several items believed to be linked to the case.
On November 18, sources within the LAPD stated that D4vd is considered the prime suspect in the murder and dismemberment of Hernandez. However, no arrest has been made, as officials await the final autopsy report.
Investigators uncovered indications that Hernandez and the singer may have had a romantic relationship, supported by the discovery that both had matching “Shhh” tattoos on their index fingers. Hernandez’s mother also told police that her daughter had been dating someone named David at the time of her disappearance.
Authorities are also exploring the possibility of a second perpetrator, suspecting that the killer may have had help in dismembering and hiding the body.
Information obtained by investigators suggests that some of Hernandez’s body parts including the head and torso had been frozen and were thawing inside the vehicle when discovered. As reported by TMZ, the freezing process has made determining the exact cause of death significantly more challenging for forensic examiners.
Following the discovery of Hernandez’s remains, D4vd abruptly canceled all U.S. and European tour dates and postponed the release of his upcoming album. A police source told People that the singer has been “uncooperative” with authorities and has not commented on his alleged relationship with the victim.
As the investigation continues, the case has sparked intense public scrutiny over the singer’s actions, the circumstances surrounding Hernandez’s disappearance, and the chilling details revealed by LAPD.
