Actors Cha Seung-won and Kim Do-hoon are set to transform into elite black agents in the upcoming drama Retired Agents.
According to MyDaily’s exclusive report on November 12, the two actors will lead the new tvN series Retired Agents Management Team.
Cha Seung-won will play Kim Cheol-soo, a retired black agent who now runs a car wash. On the surface, he appears to be an ordinary family man living a quiet life, but behind this facade lies a legendary National Intelligence Service black agent known by the codename “Phoenix.”

Kim Do-hoon will portray Go Yo-han, a member of the Retired Agents Management Team. Highly skilled but overly confident and impulsive, his behavior earns him labels like “know-it-all” and “attention-seeker.” Driven by a constant need for recognition, he embodies an anxious perfectionist.
Retired Agents follows the story of a Generation X retired agent and a Z-generation super ace who team up to track a long-hidden insider behind criminal organizations active for over 25 years. For one, it’s a chance to revive a heroic legacy; for the other, it’s the fulfillment of a field agent’s dream. The dynamic between the two men is set to be a key point of interest.
The script is written by Song Han-na (Eunsu Good Day) and Kim Min-sung, with director Jin Chang-gyu (Military Prosecutor Doberman, Treasure Island) in discussion for directing. The drama is scheduled to air on tvN in summer 2026.
