Bi Rain has found himself at the center of an intense debate following remarks made in a recent episode of his YouTube show Season B Season. During a candid conversation about relationships, the singer-actor firmly stated that he would not accept his partner going on a trip with a mixed-gender friend group — even after marriage.
Appearing alongside actors Kim Young Kwang, Kang Ha Neul, and Kang Young Seok, the topic quickly turned controversial when Rain reacted strongly to the idea.
“Are you crazy? How could anyone think that’s okay?” he exclaimed, insisting that even married couples should not engage in such situations.

Rain elaborated that such scenarios could easily foster romantic feelings, especially if the people involved are already close and physically attractive.
“Imagine being home alone while your partner travels with tall, handsome guys like Kim Young Kwang — I just can’t accept that,” he added.
While Kang Ha Neul offered a more relaxed perspective — “If someone wants to cheat, they will, no matter the trip” — Rain admitted he once held the same view in his youth but has since changed.
Following the episode’s release, Rain’s comments went viral across Korean social media platforms, stirring widespread debate. Critics labeled his views as controlling and “old-fashioned,” accusing him of promoting a patriarchal mindset that restricts personal freedom in a relationship.
“Why marry someone you don’t trust?” one user wrote, while another added, “He sounds more insecure than protective.”
However, others came to Rain’s defense, arguing that such trips do blur boundaries and may cross the line in a committed relationship.
“He’s just being honest. A lot of people feel the same but don’t say it out loud,” a supportive comment read.

Born in 1982, Bi Rain debuted in 1998 as part of a six-member idol group before rising to fame under JYP Entertainment. Today, he juggles acting, mentoring idol trainees, and hosting his own content.
Rain has been married to top actress Kim Tae Hee since 2017, following five years of dating. Despite being one of Korea’s most beloved couples, his recent comments have shown that even A-list celebrities aren’t immune to public scrutiny when it comes to gender norms and modern relationships.
As netizens continue to debate where the line should be drawn in a relationship, Rain’s stance has become a flashpoint — revealing a generational and cultural divide over love, trust, and freedom.
