BLACKPINK is once again under fire as a recent stage performance sparked mockery and disappointment from fans. A video clip showing the group performing their hit Shut Down in Bangkok has gone viral—not for praise, but for drawing sharp criticism.
In the clip, the four members of BLACKPINK appear disconnected and low-energy, leading viewers to accuse them of giving a half-hearted performance. Many netizens noted a lack of enthusiasm and synergy on stage, leaving fans disappointed. Some even stated that paying to see the group live felt like a waste of money.
Further fueling the backlash, the crowd seemed unresponsive when the group tried to hype them up mid-performance. Critics argued this was a direct consequence of the members’ lack of effort and engagement.
This isn’t the first time BLACKPINK has faced such accusations. Over the past few years, discussions around the group’s alleged laziness during live stages have surfaced repeatedly. During a Pink Venom performance at Kaohsiung National Stadium in mid-October, the quartet faced similar scrutiny for being disorganized and lacking seriousness.

Currently, BLACKPINK is on their Deadline world tour. However, their stop in the UK also drew mixed reviews. The Times commented that all members, aside from Lisa, appeared underwhelming and failed to bring energy to the stage.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK released Jump, marking their first group project in nearly three years after focusing on solo activities. The track has already topped global charts, reaffirming their global fanbase.
