Chinese actress Bao Shangen, best known for her role in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, recently fell victim to a shocking privacy breach when her personal items were stolen by a driver who later attempted to sell them on social media.
According to an official statement from Bao’s studio, the driver took advantage of his position to secretly steal and photograph several of her personal belongings, including fan gifts, filming props, and private items. He then listed them for sale online to make a profit.

The studio condemned the act as a serious violation of law and privacy, stressing that it caused both material loss and significant damage to the actress’s reputation and public image.
After discovering the incident, Bao Shangen and her team launched an immediate internal investigation and worked to retrieve the stolen items. The driver involved has since issued a handwritten apology letter and returned the stolen goods, which are currently being verified and inventoried.
The studio confirmed that the driver also paid compensation for damages. Related staff responsible for management oversight have undergone internal review and disciplinary action.

To prevent similar cases, Bao Shangen’s studio announced stricter security measures to protect artists’ personal safety, property, and legal rights moving forward. They also emphasized that they reserve the right to take legal action against any individual involved in the incident.
Born in 2002, Bao Shangen is one of China’s most promising young actresses from the post-2000 generation. She gained recognition through works such as Blossom Like Brocade, Jin Yong’s Martial Arts World, Dragon Chant, and Moonlight Over the Horizon.
While the unfortunate event has sparked public outrage, many fans have also rallied around the actress, calling for greater protection of artists’ privacy in the entertainment industry.
