In a shocking revelation, the son of a famous celebrity couple has been indicted for assault and threats against his former wife during their marriage.
According to a report by Newsis on October 30, the Gyeonggi Guri Police Station forwarded the case of 31-year-old Mr. A to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office on September 30. He faces charges including violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (for assaulting a driver), intimidation, and obstruction of business.
Mr. A is accused of striking his then-wife, Ms. B (28), in the face while she was attempting to drive in the Gyomun-dong area of Guri on September 29, 2024. He also allegedly took away her phone to prevent her from calling the police and issued threats during the incident.
It was revealed that the couple finalized their divorce through mediation on March 5 of this year.
In an interview with Newsis, Ms. B shared, “He had violent tendencies even when we were dating, but I let it go because we were getting married. At the time, I thought I could endure it, but after seeing how it hurt my family too, I regretted it deeply.”
In contrast, Mr. A’s side responded, “Disagreements in relationships can sometimes lead to arguments or even physical contact. The full facts have yet to be clearly determined.”
The incident has sparked intense public reaction, given the high profile of Mr. A’s parents in the entertainment industry. The case continues to be closely watched as the prosecution begins its review.
