Full House actress Lori Loughlin has officially ended her 28-year marriage to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, marking the final chapter of what was once considered a “perfect” Hollywood union.

Behind closed doors, however, the reality was far more painful. Sources close to the couple revealed that Giannulli had long been indulging in a lavish, self-centred lifestyle frequenting strip clubs, gambling, and prioritising golf outings at Bel Air Country Club over family.

In one especially humiliating episode, Loughlin allegedly resorted to asking exotic dancers at Skin on Robertson nightclub in Los Angeles about her husband’s whereabouts. A family friend disclosed: “She wanted to know where he was and what he was doing. It was heartbreaking.”

John Stamos, Loughlin’s long-time co-star on Full House, also weighed in: “Mossimo is an egotist. Every bad thing Lori’s been through has somehow involved him. I’ll never speak to him again.”

The tipping point came when Loughlin discovered incriminating emails and messages on Giannulli’s phone. He had been spotted out with a 32-year-old hair stylist but has denied any affair. Despite this, the betrayal was too deep to ignore.

“This isn’t a happy situation for her. They’re in very different places now, and a reconciliation seems unlikely,” said a close friend of the actress.

Although the couple have yet to initiate formal divorce proceedings, TMZ reported that their California estate in Hidden Hills recently sold for $14.9 million. The couple had signed a prenuptial agreement, separating their assets meaning Loughlin may not receive any compensation despite her husband’s alleged infidelity.

Born in 1964, Lori Loughlin rose to fame through a series of popular American TV dramas including Full House, 90210, and When Calls the Heart. According to Forbes, her net worth is estimated at $8 million. Giannulli, born in 1963, built his fortune through the Mossimo clothing brand, once a household name among American youth, with a net worth estimated at $80 million.

Their downfall began in 2019 when the couple became embroiled in the infamous U.S. college admissions scandal. They were accused of paying $500,000 to secure their daughters’ admission into the University of Southern California under false athletic pretences.

Both denied wrongdoing at first a move federal officials deemed both misguided and dishonest. In 2020, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison and fined $150,000, while Giannulli received five months and a $250,000 fine, along with community service orders.

The scandal tarnished their public image, and their daughters reportedly felt too ashamed to return to USC. Loughlin has since been deeply concerned about the lasting damage to their futures.

What began as a picture-perfect Hollywood romance has ultimately unravelled into a tale of scandal, betrayal, and disillusionment leaving Loughlin, once America’s sweetheart, to pick up the pieces.
