The online user who previously posted controversial claims about actor Lee Yi-kyung’s private life has returned with a new statement denying involvement in any bribery or blackmail, while also indicating that they will no longer comment further on the issue.
At midnight on October 23, the poster who had earlier deactivated their account after issuing an apology wrote, “Even if my personal information is visible in this profile, please refrain from contacting me via email or otherwise.”
They continued, “I didn’t receive any money and was not blackmailed. This is all I will say. Thank you for understanding.”

The controversy initially erupted on October 20 when an individual claiming to have inside knowledge about the actor wrote, “I’m exposing the real side of Lee Yi-kyung.” They shared screenshots of KakaoTalk and DM conversations, asserting the person they were speaking with was Lee Yi-kyung.
Lee Yi-kyung’s agency quickly responded with a legal warning, stating, “We are preparing legal action regarding the false information and malicious rumors being spread online. Depending on the severity, we will pursue all necessary measures, including compensation for both direct and indirect damages caused.”

The accuser, however, fired back the next day by posting a video allegedly proving access to Lee Yi-kyung’s social media account, claiming the agency’s statement was false. They then declared they were collecting more evidence and would continue revealing details.
Yet, on October 22, in a surprising turn, the user issued a public apology. They wrote, “Hello, Korean netizens. As some of you may know, I posted various images related to actor Lee Yi-kyung. What started as a joke gained more attention than expected. As I continued posting, including AI-generated photos, I started to believe it myself.”
They continued, “I truly apologize for spreading damaging rumors about Lee Yi-kyung. It began from admiration, but my emotions escalated. What started as fun gradually felt real, and now I’m overwhelmed with guilt. If I need to take responsibility, I will. Please understand that as a German, my Korean might be awkward.”

This dramatic reversal in tone prompted mixed reactions online. While some sympathized with Lee Yi-kyung, calling him a victim of false claims, others questioned whether the apology was issued under pressure or legal threat.
After issuing the apology, the user once again deactivated their account, only to return on October 23 with another clarification, stating they had not been threatened or paid off raising more eyebrows as the back-and-forth posts continued.
As the individual repeatedly deletes and reposts statements, the public remains captivated by the unpredictable developments and awaits the final outcome of this controversy.
