Recently, a post titled “Former WJSN Member Cheng Xiao’s Recent Condition” was uploaded to an online community. The post included photos of Cheng Xiao taken during her stage appearance in July.
In the images, Cheng Xiao appeared noticeably more swollen in her eyes, nose, and overall facial features compared to her time with WJSN. This sparked speculation in both South Korea and China, with some questioning whether she had undergone cosmetic surgery or was experiencing side effects from a procedure.
In July, her appearance at a Chinese music festival triggered speculation about “plastic surgery side effects,” with comments like “Why is her face swollen?” and “This looks like surgery gone wrong.” Though the issue had already been debated in China, the rumors resurfaced in Korea after online communities reposted her recent pictures under the title “Former WJSN Member Cheng Xiao’s Latest Appearance.”
Sadly, the story behind her altered appearance was far from cosmetic procedures. According to Chinese media outlet Sohu, Cheng Xiao has been suffering from low blood pressure, and medication prescribed for her condition caused swelling as a side effect. Coupled with an exhausting schedule—three consecutive days of filming and back-to-back long-haul flights—the toll on her health was immense. Despite these struggles, she continued to perform live, singing and dancing on stage. Reporters noted it was “a miracle she didn’t collapse on the spot.”
