Recently, a post attempting to “prove” that V and Wonyoung are secretly dating gained traction, using two separate videos from Paris Fashion Week as supposed evidence. The link? A pistachio croissant.
In the first clip, V is seen at the CELINE event, speaking to the media about trying a pistachio croissant he heard was delicious. Later, Wonyoung is seen in a different video from the MIU MIU show, mentioning the exact same pastry when asked what she was craving.

Cue the speculation. Some internet users claimed the shared food preference was a sign of a hidden connection even dating between the two idols.
However, netizens were quick to shut down the theory. On platforms like Nate Pann, users pointed out the absurdity of linking two top stars over such a trivial coincidence, especially considering the croissant’s popularity in Paris.
“Isn’t V almost like an uncle to her? It’s weird that people are trying to link them,” one comment read.
“They just ate the same pastry in Paris. That’s it. Stop trying to push narratives that don’t exist,” another user chimed in.
Others criticized the original poster (OP) for stretching the truth and stirring up controversy unnecessarily.
“This is just the crazy antis stirring things up again. They failed on Twitter so now they’re doing it here. How long will they keep pairing every female idol with someone?”
“Wonyoung is constantly targeted. It’s tiring to see her dragged into baseless dating rumors,” another fan added.

Despite the backlash, this isn’t the first time the two stars have been paired together in rumors. Wonyoung, in particular, has been subjected to repeated online speculation that many fans feel is rooted in sexism and age-based prejudice.
Both idols attended Paris Fashion Week on separate schedules for their respective brand endorsements, with no overlap in events or locations. The shared taste in pastries seems more coincidental than conspiratorial.
With over 855K followers, @dailyfashion news shared both interactions, likely unintentionally fueling the rumor mill. Still, neither HYBE nor Starship Entertainment has commented, likely seeing the claims as too unfounded to warrant a response.
As netizens continue to call for an end to forced idol “shipping,” it’s clear that fans want more respect for their favorite artists’ privacy and boundaries — especially when the “evidence” boils down to a pastry.
