The hottest drama in Korea right now is undeniably the romantic hit Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. Despite some controversies, the series continues to attract viewers with its entertaining storyline and the undeniable chemistry between its leads, Yoona and Lee Chae Min.
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty follows the love story of Yeon Ji Young, a talented and beautiful chef who suddenly time-travels to the Joseon era, and Yi Heon, a young king destined to become a feared tyrant. However, Ji Young’s unexpected arrival and love spark the possibility of changing his fate.

Viewers agree that Yoona’s performance is perfectly on point, a natural fit given her strength in romantic roles. The real surprise, however, has been Lee Chae Min. Interestingly, he wasn’t the production team’s first choice Park Sung Hoon was originally cast alongside Yoona. But after Park became embroiled in controversy over inappropriate online content, the role was reassigned.
Born in 2000, Lee Chae Min had little time to prepare. Park officially dropped out on January 11, the announcement of Lee’s casting came on January 13, and by early February, filming had already begun. Despite the tight schedule, Lee threw himself into the role, learning horseback riding, archery, and action choreography while studying the script meticulously.

His efforts have paid off. Although he is 10 years younger than Yoona, their on-screen chemistry feels natural and compelling. Thanks to this role, Lee Chae Min has gone from a relatively unnoticed actor to one of Korea’s most talked-about rising stars.
According to Sports Seoul, Lee has caught the attention of numerous producers. Reports reveal that as many as 30 scripts have already been sent to him, offering roles in both television and film. With his breakthrough performance in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Lee Chae Min’s career has entered an exciting new chapter.
