SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama Queen Mantis is racing toward its finale, with just two episodes left. As the drama builds to its climax, speculation is heating up over the identity of the serial copycat killer.

So far, police investigations had focused on suspects Lee Tae-gu (Seo Gu-wan) and Lee Chang-min (Park Min-jae). But with both now dead, suspicion has shifted dramatically. The mysterious figure known as Joy is believed to be connected to a child named Kang Yeon-joong, once abused by a murder victim of Go Hyun-jung (Jung Yi-shin). Whether Joy is the true killer remains to be revealed.

The Main Suspects

Kim Bo-ra (Lee Jung-yeon)

Viewers strongly suspect Kim Bo-ra, the wife of Cha Soo-yeol (Jang Dong-yoon). The killer has consistently shown uncanny knowledge of both Cha Soo-yeol and Go Hyun-jung.

Police even uncovered that Kang Yeon-joong underwent gender reassignment surgery — raising suspicions that Bo-ra, who has been by Soo-yeol’s side all along, could be the one hiding in plain sight.

Choi Joong-ho (Jo Sung-ha)

Another strong candidate is former detective Choi Joong-ho, who arrested Go Hyun-jung 23 years ago and was entrusted to watch over Cha Soo-yeol as he grew up. Having both deep guilt over his past failures and intimate knowledge of the key players, Joong-ho stands at a morally gray crossroads.

Could his despair over the justice system’s weaknesses have pushed him to take matters into his own hands?

Han Dong-hee (Seo A-ra)

Perhaps the most intriguing possibility is Han Dong-hee. While she has had minimal involvement so far, fans point to the drama’s roots: Queen Mantis is adapted from the 2017 French series, where Dong-hee’s character was revealed as the true culprit. If the Korean remake follows the original storyline, Han Dong-hee may be the shocking final twist.

The identity of the killer will finally be revealed in the series finale airing September 27 at 9:50 p.m. KST. With so many loose ends and mounting tension, audiences are bracing for a jaw-dropping ending.

Will the Korean adaptation mirror the original French drama, or will it surprise viewers with an entirely new twist?
