On September 22, Ningning took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “I want to delete all my posts, would you be upset?” She also created a poll with the options “Yes” and “No.” When more than 4,000 fans the majority chose “Yes,” Ningning responded with a surprised, “Why.”

Her message comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding aespa’s recent stages. On September 13 (local time), the group appeared on America’s top morning show Good Morning America to perform their new track Rich Man, officially marking their U.S. push. However, aespa faced heavy criticism for alleged lip-syncing and what many netizens perceived as a lack of preparation. The backlash continued at a recent awards show, where they were again accused of lip-syncing during most of their performances.

Despite the criticism, aespa remains active with back-to-back promotions. The group released their first single album Dirty Work on June 27, performed at SMTown Live 2025 held at Tokyo Dome in August, and recently dropped their sixth mini-album featuring the title track Rich Man.
