Tom Holland, best known as the MCU’s Spider-Man, was rushed to the hospital after suffering a concussion during the filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

According to The Sun and other UK media reports on September 21 (local time), the incident occurred on September 19 at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England. Holland reportedly fell while performing a stunt, injuring his head in the process. He was immediately transported to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with a concussion and treated.

A female stunt double was also taken to the hospital by ambulance following the accident, though her condition has not been fully disclosed.

The accident has temporarily halted filming. Holland’s father, comedian Dominic Holland, confirmed at a charity dinner in London’s Mayfair that his son will be stepping away from filming for the time being: “Tom will not be participating in filming for a while.”

Holland and his fiancée, actress Zendaya, were also present at the event but reportedly left early following the incident.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, which are co-producing the film, are said to be holding meetings to decide on the next steps for production. The UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) may also investigate the accident given its severity.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release in July 2026, marking Holland’s fourth time leading a Spider-Man film after Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021).
