On September 17, Shin Ye Eun appeared on the YouTube channel Workman. During the show, she participated in a “balance game,” where she was asked: If you could only play one type of role forever, would you choose villains or heroes?

Shin chose heroes, explaining, “Villains require you to channel so much negative energy. Even if you try to separate acting from daily life, constantly thinking about being unhappy eventually makes you unhappy. On the other hand, if you keep thinking about happiness, it can make you feel happier. Since our job revolves around emotions, I don’t think it’s guaranteed that it won’t spill into everyday life.”

She then revealed a painful experience: “After filming The Glory, the parents of someone I knew asked if I was really a good friend to be around. That hurt me. It was just acting, but realizing people could see me that way was upsetting.”

Born in 1998, Shin Ye Eun (27) has steadily built her career through dramas such as A-Teen, He Is Psychometric, Welcome, The Glory, The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, and Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born, as well as the film Secret: Untold Melody. She is currently starring in JTBC’s A Hundred Memories.
