The beloved cast of Reply 1988 will gather for a special trip to Gangwon-do on October 12 and 13, marking the drama’s 10th anniversary.
According to MyDaily on September 16, more than ten members of the cast will head out on a two-day, one-night MT (membership training) together. This reunion will also be filmed as part of PD Na Young Seok’s variety content, Egg is Coming, making the nostalgic trip a treat not just for the cast but also for fans watching from home.
Unlike its predecessors Reply 1997 and Reply 1994, Reply 1988 was set in the late 1980s, centering around a warm, heartfelt family story in Ssangmun-dong, Seoul, and the bonds of love and friendship among five childhood friends who grew up in the same neighborhood.
Airing on tvN from November 2015 to January 2016, the drama became a cultural phenomenon. It started with a 6.7% rating (Nielsen Korea) and soared to 19.6% for its finale. Over the past decade, its stars—including Hyeri, Park Bo Gum, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Jun Yeol, Lee Dong Hwi, Ryu Hye Young, and Ahn Jae Hong—have all risen to leading roles in the industry.
Unfortunately, Ryu Jun Yeol will not be able to join the anniversary trip due to a filming schedule conflict.
