According to reports on September 15, Lee Kwang Soo did not attend Kim Jong Kook’s wedding, which was held on September 5 at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. Although he received an invitation, he was in Vietnam at the time for promotional activities for his upcoming film Love Barista, set to premiere in October, and was unable to join the celebration.
Kim Jong Kook previously shared on his YouTube channel “Gym Jong Kook” that he had invited around 100 guests to the private ceremony, which was held under strict security. Among those in attendance were fellow Running Man members Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Ji Suk Jin, Song Ji Hyo, and Yang Se Chan, as well as Cha Tae Hyun, Jang Hyuk, Hong Kyung Min, Seo Jang Hoon, Joo Woo Jae, Kang Hoon, and Jonathan, all close friends of the singer.
However, many fans noticed Lee Kwang Soo who had worked alongside Kim Jong Kook on Running Man for 11 years between 2010 and 2021 was not present in the wedding footage, sparking speculation that he had not been invited. It was later clarified that he had indeed been invited but was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts with his film promotions.
Meanwhile, Yoo Jae Suk hosted the ceremony, and Kim Jong Kook himself sang his hit song Lovable as the wedding serenade, delivering a heartfelt moment for his bride.
