Jeon Hye Jin comeback drama 2026woman' 'blackhair' 'blazer' 'microphone' 'earrings.

Actress Jeon Hye Jin is returning to the small screen in 2026 with a powerful role in The New Employee, Chairman Kang (신입사원 강회장), a new drama created by hit writer Kim Soon Ok, known for her blockbuster works like Penthouse and The Last Empress.

According to a report by MyDaily on September 8, Jeon Hye Jin has been cast as Kang Jae Kyung, the CEO of Choi Sung Chemicals, a fierce and commanding “cold beauty” who grew up with twins and boasts top-tier combat skills. This bold new role continues Jeon’s trajectory of playing strong, complex female characters.

The New Employee, Chairman Kang is a fantasy office drama based on a popular web novel. It follows a top conglomerate chairman who, after an unexpected accident, finds himself reliving his life in an unwanted second chance. The series will be adapted by Hyun Ji Min, writer of Pandora: Beneath the Paradise, and directed by Ko Hye Jin, whose past credits include Diary of a Prosecutor and Forecasting Love and Weather.

This comeback marks a significant moment for Jeon Hye Jin, who last touched audiences with her relatable portrayal of a working mom in Riding Life earlier this year. Her performance resonated deeply, particularly as she returned to acting after the heartbreaking loss of her husband, actor Lee Sun Kyun, in December 2023.

Beyond television, Jeon is also making a theatrical comeback after a decade-long hiatus. She will star in the one-woman play Laios, premiering from November 6 to 22 at Myeongdong Theater. As the second installment in the Anthropolis series, the production promises a challenging solo stage where Jeon can fully showcase her dramatic range.
