On the September 4 broadcast of Boys II Planet, only 24 out of 48 trainees advanced to the semifinals. As expected, Lee Sang-won and Zhou Anxin maintained their stronghold on the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, continuing their rivalry at the very top since the integration of K-Planet and C-Planet.
Lee Leo climbed two ranks from the first round to secure 3rd place, while He Xinlong’s steady rise reached a new peak as he broke into 4th. A JYP debut group member, He impressed not only with his skills but also with his kind-hearted persona. His viral line, “I’ll be your umbrella,” struck a chord with viewers, boosting his votes dramatically. From 15th in real-time rankings for the third episode, he soared to 9th in the first survival announcement and now sits comfortably at 4th.
Rounding out the Top 8 were Kim Junseo (5th), Chung Sang-hyun (6th), Kim Geonwoo (7th), and Yoo Kangmin (8th). Kim Geonwoo made one of the biggest jumps, leaping nine places compared to the first round. Masato ranked 9th, followed by Chuei Li-yu (10th) and Kim Junmin (11th).
The biggest turnaround belonged to Jun Lee-jeong. Previously ranked 23rd and even dropping to 34th in the first integrated voting round, his responsible attitude and consistent teamwork won fans over, pushing him all the way to 12th. Park Donggyu also stunned viewers by clinching the final 24th spot after showcasing creativity in choreography during the “Bad” stage. ATEEZ’s San, serving as Planet Master, noted: “Just 10 hours ago, Park Donggyu wasn’t even on the radar as a survivor candidate. His sudden rise after broadcast was truly dramatic.”
In contrast, early favorite Fan Zheyi faced a shocking elimination. Once ranked as high as 3rd in C-Planet’s first real-time vote, his standing steadily declined, culminating in a 25th-place finish that ended his journey.
The confirmed Top 24 semifinalists are: Lee Sang-won, Zhou Anxin, Lee Leo, He Xinlong, Kim Junseo, Chung Sang-hyun, Kim Geonwoo, Yoo Kangmin, Masato, Chuei Li-yu, Kim Junmin, Jun Lee-jeong, Park Junil, Jang Han-eum, Sun Hengyu, Kang Woojin, Li Zihao, Chen Kaiwen, Zhang Jiahao, Na Yunseo, Hsu Ching-yu, Yumeki, Hu Hanwen, and Park Donggyu.

Looking ahead, the main tension lies between those in secure positions and the rising challengers. While Lee Sang-won and Zhou Anxin appear untouchable with massive global fandoms, the rest of the Top 8 remain vulnerable. Trainees like Jun Lee-jeong and Park Donggyu, who have surged thanks to screen time and strong character arcs, could continue their momentum and threaten the current frontrunners.
Episode 8 of Boys II Planet recorded a nationwide rating of 0.6% according to Nielsen Korea.
