The original drama, which aired in 2023, told the story of Cha Jung-sook, a woman who transformed from a housewife of 20 years into a first-year medical resident. Her journey—marked by resilience against life’s harsh realities, a domineering husband, and her struggle to rediscover her own purpose—struck a deep chord with viewers. The series became a nationwide phenomenon, achieving ratings as high as 18.5% despite a challenging TV landscape.
Now, two years after its finale, the beloved cast returns to lead the new chapter. Uhm Jung-hwa will once again play Cha Jung-sook, the resilient wife-turned-doctor, while Kim Byung-chul reprises his role as Seo In-ho, her husband and a colorectal surgery department chief who works at the same hospital.
