On August 21st, the Life Insurance Social Responsibility Foundation (Chairman Lee Jang-woo) unveiled an interview with Sunny on its mental growth platform PLAYLIFE. This marks her first public statement since ending her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and moving to A2O Entertainment, the company founded by her uncle Lee Soo-man.
Now preparing for her next chapter as a producer, Sunny emphasized the importance of self-love. “As an artist, it’s easy to lose confidence under public evaluation, but you need to know how to love yourself in order to truly be loved,” she said. “What matters most is learning to care for yourself and helping yourself build confidence.”
Sunny revealed that she has studied psychology to better understand how to love herself. Drawing from this journey, she shared a message to young artists and youth: “Everyone grows at their own pace. What’s most important is having love for yourself. True growth of the heart is complete when you can also embrace the people around you.”

She also reflected on her 18th anniversary since debut. “In the past, I wanted to be someone cool and impressive, but now I am practicing accepting myself as I am. Realizing that I cannot satisfy everyone has made my heart much stronger,” she confessed.
