On August 19, the press conference for the upcoming September film No Other Choice was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. The event brought together the film’s powerhouse cast and crew, including Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yum Hye-ran, and Cha Seung-won.

The unexpected comedic moment unfolded when Lee Byung-hun posted a short video from the event on his social media. In the clip, Lee playfully tapped Director Park on the shoulder, saying “Director,” which sent Son Ye-jin, seated beside him, into a fit of laughter. Trying to contain himself, Park Chan-wook covered his mouth before eventually leaving the stage entirely, unable to hold it in.

As the rest of the cast chuckled and watched the director flee, Son Ye-jin also turned away completely, shielding herself from the contagious laughter. When Lee Byung-hun nudged her again, she too ran off stage, leaving the audience both amused and curious about what had just happened.

Beyond the light-hearted antics, the cast shared heartfelt reflections about the film. Lee Byung-hun commented on his first impression of the script:

“When I first read the script, I wondered if this was really a Park Chan-wook film—it had so many humorous moments. I tried to portray the psychological and behavioral changes of an ordinary man thrust into an extreme situation in a convincing way, so that audiences could empathize.”

Son Ye-jin, who plays Lee’s wife in the film, added:

“I felt that if I didn’t participate in this project, I would regret it—it has such a powerful story. In the film I play a mother, and since I’ve given birth myself, I could feel that my acting was different this time.”

Park Hee-soon also chimed in with a light joke:

“I’ve been a longtime fan of Director Park. At first I thought, is he giving up on Cannes and aiming for 10 million viewers in Korea instead?” His comment drew further laughter from the audience.
