On August 19, the actor appeared alongside Kang Mina and Go Kyu-pil in a video titled “Seo In-guk, Kang Mina, and Go Kyu-pil Are Best Friends But Would Never Lend Each Other Money” on the YouTube channel Vivo TV. The trio joined comedian Song Eun-i to promote their upcoming Disney+ drama Twelve.
During the session, Song Eun-i asked the actors about their real-life friendship. Seo In-guk explained, “We don’t contact each other very often privately, but we always make sure to check in occasionally. I think that’s close enough to call it a personal friendship.”
Things took a humorous turn when she asked him how much money he’d be willing to lend Go Kyu-pil. Without hesitation, Seo replied, “I wouldn’t lend money to Kyu-pil hyung,” sparking laughter in the room. Go Kyu-pil chimed in with agreement: “I wouldn’t lend him money either.”
This led Song Eun-i to bring up a past viral moment involving Seo In-guk’s family. She asked, “Didn’t your sister post praise online after receiving allowance from you? How much did you give her for her to write that?”
Seo In-guk responded with a grin, “The maximum transfer limit on the messenger app is 2 million won (about $1,429).” When Song reacted in shock, he clarified, “Well, some of it got deducted along the way. And it was also meant for my nephews to use together.”
Despite his sister being married, Seo In-guk’s continued generosity toward her and her children struck a chord with many viewers, once again highlighting his close family bonds.
Kang Mina also opened up about money matters with her younger brother, stating, “We don’t really give each other allowances. It’s more like: earn your own money and spend it yourself.” She added with a laugh, “We only give cash for birthdays, and that’s it—keep it clean and simple.”
