On August 13, the court ordered former ONE N’ ONLY member Kenshin Kamimura to pay 15,000 HKD (about 2.63 million KRW) after finding him guilty of indecent assault. While Kamimura denied the allegations, the court rejected his defense after examining his actions before and after the incident.

Judge Peter Yu noted that although the crime carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a fine was imposed in consideration of Kamimura’s expulsion from his agency and the collapse of his entertainment career.

The incident took place in March during a celebratory dinner at a restaurant in southern Hong Kong following a fan meeting. According to the victim, Kamimura — who was intoxicated — touched her thigh multiple times despite her refusal. He also allegedly used a translation app to make an inappropriate proposal, asking her to go to the bathroom with him, and touched her again after she rejected him.

Kamimura’s lawyer appealed for leniency, citing his personal hardships, including losing his father at the age of 10, being raised by his mother and sister, facing around 3 million HKD (520 million KRW) in contract penalty damages, and being stranded in Hong Kong for over five months.

Judge Yu, however, strongly condemned the assault:

“The defendant’s conduct clearly shows a lack of respect for women and deserves criticism. Given the significant power imbalance at the time, it is natural that the victim could not leave or react actively.”

Kamimura, who had appeared in Japanese dramas such as Minors, received visible support from a small group of fans present in the courtroom, with some crying upon hearing the verdict.
