In a video uploaded on August 13 to the Workman YouTube channel, titled “Powerhouse Senior Yeo Jin Goo Has Arrived | Manual Labor · Yeo Jin Goo · Um Tae Goo,” the actor — now in his 21st year since debut — opened up about his workout routine.
Yeo recently surprised viewers in the teaser for TVING’s Great Escape: The Story with a physique that could rival former ssireum champion Kang Ho Dong. “These days, I mostly do weight training,” he said. “I don’t follow a strict plan — I just do whatever exercise feels best at the moment. Sometimes it takes three hours, sometimes two.”
He explained that building muscle has always come naturally to him. “I’ve been consistent with training, and my body just got bigger. Lately, I’ve been adding cardio to refine my shape. I didn’t even realize how big I’d gotten until I saw myself next to Ho Dong hyung,” Yeo laughed. “That’s when I thought I should balance my proportions more.”
His preferred cardio method might surprise some — stair climbing. “I start from the basement of my apartment and go all the way to the top floor. It’s surprisingly effective, and I like listening to music while I do it. Running outside is a bit much in this heat.”
From viral physique comparisons to his newfound love for stair workouts, Yeo Jin Goo proves that fitness is as much about balance as it is about building muscle.
