The County Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in Yinxian has officially confirmed that the seal on a juice company linked to actress Zhao Lusi is authentic, following earlier speculation that it might be fake.
In a statement to local media, the bureau clarified that the title of “Agriculture Promotion Ambassador” was awarded to the Aaaaaple apple juice brand, not to any individual, including Zhao Lusi herself.
A bureau employee explained that previous media inquiries had specifically asked whether Zhao Lusi personally held the honorary title, to which the operator responded “No.” This response, they said, was misunderstood by some outlets as a denial of the award’s authenticity.
The online page Qiánjiāng Video further clarified that their earlier claim of a fake seal was the result of miscommunication—its staff had repeated hearsay information rather than verified facts.
Following the clarification, Zhao Lusi announced her decision to delete her personal Weibo account. She noted, however, that the platform informed her the deletion request would only be approved 15 days later.
The incident has sparked discussions online about misreporting, the spread of unverified information, and the responsibilities of both media and public figures in addressing controversies.
