Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming has found himself at the center of a heated online debate after his ex-girlfriend, Ye Ke, publicly revealed that they share a child together. The disclosure came during a livestream on August 7, where Ye confirmed she had given birth to Huang’s child but stated that their relationship had already ended. She also hinted that she felt “abandoned,” explaining that the baby is currently being cared for by her mother.
Ye Ke, who had stepped away from the spotlight for a period, recently returned to livestreaming. While she said it was to earn her own living, speculation quickly arose that her comeback was a calculated move to pressure Huang into meeting her personal demands.
Reports from some entertainment bloggers claimed Ye had asked Huang for 2.7 billion Chinese yuan (around 375 million USD) as a combined breakup settlement and childcare expenses. According to these claims, Huang refused the payout but allegedly offered to take full custody of the child. It was further rumored that Ye, who dated Huang for 3 years, possessed sensitive information about the actor that could harm his image.
However, these allegations were soon debunked. The reporter who first circulated the extortion story reportedly received a legal notice, presumably from Ye Ke, and later admitted the information was fabricated.
On the other hand, Ye Ke’s public image in China has long been divisive. Since Huang publicly acknowledged their relationship, she has been labeled by some as a “gold digger,” an accusation she has consistently denied.
Despite the growing speculation, Huang Xiaoming has not commented on the matter, leaving fans and netizens wondering whether he will eventually address the controversy or remain silent.
