In an explosive broadcast, Real Madrid TV (RMTV) labeled the league “manipulated,” “distorted,” and “corrupt,” condemning not only the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) but also key figures including La Liga President Javier Tebas and Judge Jose Alberto Pelaez, who rejected the club’s formal request.
“La Liga is kicking off under manipulation, distortion, and corruption,” said RMTV, in one of the channel’s most scathing public statements to date.
The club argued that its players were physically disadvantaged after participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, and submitted their rescheduling request on July 9. However, Judge Pelaez only issued the decision on July 31 — a 22-day delay that RMTV slammed as careless and unjust.
“Urgency was ignored. Common sense buried,” the statement continued.
“That decision was nothing short of a slammed door on sports medicine, fairness, and basic logic.”
RMTV also pointed to inconsistent rule enforcement, criticizing how exceptions are made in some cases, yet the law was applied rigidly against them: “Rules are bent when convenient — but this time they were used like a hammer. And the team hit the hardest is Real Madrid.”
The channel further claimed that Tebas influenced the entire decision-making process, accusing him of publicly shaping opinion before the judge’s verdict: “He’s not a passenger — he’s the captain. He picks the target, calls the shot, and charts the course.”
According to Real Madrid, this is not just a scheduling disagreement — it’s a serious attack on the integrity of Spanish football’s governance and a “strike against the entire season.”
The club plans to appeal to the National Committee for the Resolution of Disputes, though RMTV expressed doubt the appeal would succeed: “Will they correct this blatantly discriminatory decision, or will they simply protect their positions by pleasing superiors?”
Real Madrid is now preparing to face Osasuna on August 20, amid growing tension, uncertainty, and a looming sense of injustice. “Today it’s Real Madrid. Tomorrow, it could be anyone,” RMTV concluded.
