Bruno Fernandes, captain of Manchester United, has delivered a blunt assessment of his team’s recent performances, calling out a “lazy” attitude and lack of intensity when out of possession.
“We weren’t aggressive enough without the ball. There was some laziness — and that needs to stop if we don’t want to pay the price,” the Portuguese midfielder said.
Fernandes emphasized that Man United must increase internal competition, stressing the need for stronger players who can challenge for starting spots. He also expressed hope that the club would secure new signings soon, sending a clear message to the management ahead of the 2025/26 season.
He didn’t shy away from acknowledging the immense pressure at Old Trafford: “Every small detail matters. At a club of this size, even minor mistakes get dissected by the media and fans.”
In a heartfelt message to supporters, Bruno concluded: “We know fans are paying more and longtime club staff have been let go. It’s time we repay their faith with performances worthy of the badge.”

As Sporting CP prepares for its final preseason friendly against Fiorentina, speculation grows about a potential move for Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart, with Benjamin Šeško now considered too costly due to RB Leipzig’s high valuation.
