On July 30, On Joo-wan‘s agency, Haewadal Entertainment, issued an official statement denying any connection to a recent anonymous post that sparked a wave of speculation.

The post, uploaded on an online office worker community, was titled “My ex-boyfriend’s agency sent me 800 million KRW”. The anonymous author claimed to have received a settlement from her ex’s agency to stay silent about the timeline of his new relationship, which allegedly began before their breakup.

“He’s going to appear on a variety show within six months to reveal his wedding plans with his new girlfriend, but the dates won’t match up,” she wrote, adding, “They offered me 800 million KRW as a ‘comfort fee’—basically hush money.”

As speculation swirled online, some users began to connect the dots using initials and vague clues. One commenter even wrote, “He’s not a top star, but if you’re over 30, you’d recognize the name.”

In response, On Joo-wan’s agency stated, “It’s completely untrue. He has nothing to do with this incident.” The agency expressed frustration over the baseless damage caused by online speculation and “initial games” frequently played on anonymous forums.

Meanwhile, On Joo-wan and Minah (Girl’s Day) are set to tie the knot this November. The couple had kept their relationship private until recently announcing their marriage. Their romance began after reuniting in the 2021 musical “The Days”, although they first met during the 2016 SBS drama “Beautiful Gong Shim”.

Despite the rumors, fans continue to express their support and congratulations for the couple’s upcoming new chapter.
