On July 27, Cha Eun-woo streamed a live session titled “I’ll Be Back Safely” on his YouTube channel, showing fans his buzz cut for the first time. “Even when I look in the mirror, it feels strange. I’m surprised by how I look,” he admitted shyly. “It feels real now that I’ve cut my hair. This is probably the shortest my hair has been since I was two or three years old.”
Despite a packed schedule across music and acting, Cha continued engaging with fans right up until enlistment. He wrapped filming for Netflix’s series “The Wonder Fools”, slated for release next year, and recently completed shooting for the film “First Ride”. He also has a new album scheduled for release this September.
Speaking about the upcoming album, Cha said, “It’s very different from my first album. The songs are more upbeat, and I put in a lot of effort with the choreography. There’s more falsetto too, and I think fans will love the music video. If the first album was for a friend, this one is for myself.”

Cha Eun-woo also expressed affection for his movie and drama. “’First Ride‘ is a fun yet emotional film. It’s a shame I won’t be able to attend the premiere. ‘The Wonder Fools‘ is about superpowers, so I think it’ll show a different side of me.”
Before enlistment, Cha spent meaningful time with fellow ASTRO members. “We started with just the members, but the gathering grew with our managers and close friends. (Moon) Sua also came. It was a joyful moment,” he shared.

However, it was his final message to fans that moved many to tears. “Thank you for being with me through my 20s, the first act of my life. I lived earnestly and intensely, and when I look back, I feel a mix of emotions. I’m curious and excited about what my 30s will look like. I’ll do well during my service, so please keep supporting me when I return. I’ll come back healthy and strong.”
