Cristiano Ronaldo continues to exert his influence at Al Nassr, this time by requesting the club to sign Chelsea’s left-back Marc Cucurella, according to Spanish outlet Marca. The request comes shortly after Al Nassr reportedly reached a deal to acquire Joao Felix.

The Felix deal is valued at €30 million, with potential add-ons pushing it up to €50 million. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the agreement also includes a resale profit-sharing clause.

Marc Cucurella, currently a key player at Chelsea, joined the London club from Brighton in 2022. Initially competing with Ben Chilwell for the left-back position, the Spanish defender has since cemented his place as a regular starter. Last season, he made 54 appearances across all competitions, including 36 Premier League starts.

Cucurella remains under contract with Chelsea until June 2028 and is highly valued by both manager Enzo Maresca and the Stamford Bridge faithful. Consequently, Chelsea faces no pressure to offload him, and the likelihood of Al Nassr successfully negotiating his transfer appears slim.

“Cucurella continues to perform consistently and has established himself in the Premier League, making a departure from Chelsea at this time unlikely,” Goal noted.

With these challenges in mind, Ronaldo may have to settle for the recent addition of Joao Felix. Though once a highly-touted prospect in European football, Felix struggled to live up to expectations and is now set to begin a new chapter in the Saudi Pro League.
