South Korea’s powerhouse production company THE BLACK LABEL is making waves across the global music industry, marking a new era in K-pop influence and innovation.

Originally founded under YG Entertainment, THE BLACK LABEL became an independent entity in 2021. Spearheaded by Teddy Park, a former 1TYM member and longtime YG producer, the label has built a formidable roster of artists and producers, crafting hits for top-tier acts like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK. Teddy’s contributions even earned him a spot on Billboard’s 2021 list of “The 50 Greatest Producers of the 21st Century.”

This year, the label’s creative force has produced a series of explosive successes. Notably, Teddy and fellow producers Kush, 24, and Vince were behind the original soundtrack of Netflix’s animated film K-Pop: Demon Hunters.

The standout tracks Golden, Soda Pop, and How It’s Done have resonated with fans worldwide. According to Billboard’s projections for the chart dated July 26, Golden climbed from No. 6 to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the film’s album secured the No. 5 spot on the Billboard 200 with a weekly sales record of 85,000 units—its highest yet.

The label also powered BLACKPINK’s triumphant return with their new title track Jump (뛰어), a high-energy EDM anthem featuring bold guitar riffs and bass. This single marked the girl group’s third No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and their fourth on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, both all-time records for a K-pop girl group. Additionally, Jump debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, their 10th song to chart—another record for K-pop female groups.

Meanwhile, rookie sensation ALLDAY PROJECT, also under THE BLACK LABEL, is proving to be a breakout act. Their debut album featured double title tracks FAMOUS and WICKED, which quickly dominated charts. FAMOUS topped Korea’s Melon Top 100 within just three days of release, while WICKED soared to No. 9, riding a wave of growing popularity through music show performances. The group also secured two music show wins with their debut album, underscoring their immense potential.

With creativity at its core and a track record of chart-topping hits, THE BLACK LABEL continues to redefine the sound of K-pop and expand its global influence—one meticulously produced song at a time.
