It was recently revealed that Han So-hee gifted laptops worth approximately 50 million KRW (around $38,000) to 43 students at Seoul Institute of the Arts. The donation, made in July 2024, had been kept under wraps at Han’s request.
A Lesson That Went Far Beyond Acting
Han So-hee had participated in an action lecture at Seoul Institute of the Arts upon the invitation of action director Kim Min-soo, with whom she previously worked on the drama “My Name”. Though scheduled for only a one-day special lecture, Han ended up spending an entire week, devoting four hours each day to train and connect with students.

Her down-to-earth attitude quickly won over the class, earning her the nickname “Team Leader Han”. But it was what she did after the lecture that truly left an impression.
A Quiet Surprise for 43 Students
At the end of the program, Han So-hee surprised all 43 students who participated by personally gifting each of them a laptop, fully paid out of her own pocket. The total cost was reportedly around 50 million KRW.

According to Kim Min-soo, Han explicitly requested that the gesture remain confidential, telling the students, “This is just something I want to keep to myself.” Out of respect, none of the recipients spoke publicly—until now.
Director Kim eventually decided to share the story, stating, “It’s not about the money. Acts of kindness like this should be known and celebrated.”
A Star With a Golden Heart
Han So-hee is known for her fierce roles in dramas like “My Name” and “Nevertheless”, but this gesture shows a different side of her: a quietly generous and humble personality who prefers to give without applause.

Her upcoming film, “Project Y”, is set to premiere soon. Co-starring Jeon Jong-seo, the noir film is set in Gangnam and revolves around greed, ambition and 8 billion KRW in hidden gold bars.
But even before the box office numbers roll in, Han So-hee has already proven she’s a true star—both on and off the screen.
